Trawick International claims: forms, networks and contacts
Trawick International administers the Safe Travels plans. Its claim contact and form depend on your certificate, so the first step is a lookup. Here is what Trawick publishes.
Who decides your claim. Claims are handled for the insurer by Trawick and its claims administrator. Trawick’s plan pages say Safe Travels plans are underwritten by Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Belgian branch. Before care: networks and pre certification
- Trawick says some plans have networks and others do not. If your ID card has no network logo, you may visit any provider, pay, then claim. [3]
- If your ID card shows the UnitedHealthcare logo, Trawick directs you to whyuhc.com and the Options PPO Health Plan search. - Trawick’s plan pages list UHC Direct as the provider network for Safe Travels USA, Safe Travels USA Comprehensive and Safe Travels USA Cost Saver, and Any Provider for Safe Travels Elite. [4][5][6][7]
- Trawick notes that dental providers and pharmacies are out of network, and that saying “I am covered by Trawick International” may not be recognized: providers know the network on your card. [3]
- Pre certification matters. The plan pages for Safe Travels USA, USA Comprehensive, Elite and International state a 50% reduction of eligible medical expenses when pre certification requirements are not met. The Cost Saver pages show 70% in their benefit tables. [4][5][7][8][6]
- On Safe Travels USA, emergency medical evacuation must be approved in advance and coordinated by the assistance company to be eligible. [4]
Filing the claim
- Find your plan name, your ID number (it starts with a 9) and your order number (it starts with a 1 or a 2) on the confirmation or certificate emailed at purchase. Trawick says these numbers are required to file. [1]

- Depending on the plan and when you bought it, you may be able to file online. Otherwise the PDF claim form can be mailed, faxed or emailed with your documents. [1]
- For a medical claim, Trawick lists medical documentation, doctor or hospital reports, detailed bills or forms for the services received, and receipts for payments you made. [1]
- If you traveled internationally, you may be asked for a copy of your passport identification page with entry and exit stamps, or your I94 record. [1]
- Include banking information for direct payment and a current email address. Trawick sends policy documents, Explanations of Benefits and requests for information by email. [1]
- Trawick says processing is delayed by the wrong claim form, the wrong mailing address or incomplete documentation. [1]

- A claim filing deadline: the Trawick pages we checked do not state one for Safe Travels plans. Your plan document sets it, so read it as soon as you need care.
- A claims mailing address: Trawick gives it per certificate through the lookup tool, so we do not list one.
- An appeal procedure and appeal address: not published on the Trawick pages we checked. Ask the claims contact from your lookup, and check your plan document.

What numbers do I need to file a Trawick claim?
